Founding History
Ermer GmbH was founded as a design office by Josef Ermer on August 29, 1979 in Schirmitz. The company enabled him to apply his extensive design experience in the field of engineering in working with his customers to bring their projects to fruition.
The next major step in 1983 saw the company open its own manufacturing and assembly operation at leased premises in Weiden i.d.Opf., which allowed Mr. Ermer's designs to be realized in-house.
The most important milestone in the company's history was in 1986 when the business moved to the newly constructed production facility complete with office wing, 1200 m² of assembly space, production floor, paint shop and warehouse facilities at the "Am Forst" industrial estate in Weiden. This site remains the headquarters of Ermer GmbH to this day.
From 1994 to 2009 Mr. Thomas Ermer, son of the founder Josef Ermer, got acquainted with the company management.
To keep pace with growing demand, the assembly hall was extended in 1998 to include a further 800 m² of production and warehouse space.
Since May 2009, the company has been managed and led by Mrs. Ingrid Ermer, daughter of the company founder Josef Ermer. The company has remained in family ownership for over 30 years since its foundation.
